Duncans Play

'Down from the Mountain' Play

First time ever I’ve been at a school play. First time ever I’ve seen a family member in a play. First time ever, but definitely cool.

Amazing the job these teenagers did. Very over the top play, very funny.

In Switzerland, when I grew up, I never heard of school plays. Something like this just didn’t exist. At least none of the schools I know about. Not even at college level. Which is a pity. This might have changed by now though. I probably would have had a lot of fun doing stuff like this.

Then again, maybe I’d have had already stage fright then, and not only later when I had ballet performances. I always thought of stage fright of being a drag - so much fun doing something and then doing the same thing in front of other people and the only thing left is stress and all fun is gone.

  1. More details please! What was the play? How is Duncan related to you? What grade level are they?

  2. You really think I know my family that well that I could tell his age? LOL. He’s the handsome young guy in a suit and with hair as if he fell out of bed just a minute ago. He is the oldest son of Bear’s sister, thus my nephew. He is bound for Pre-Med at KU (I think he is aiming at Forensic Pathology) and about to turn 18. If I’m wrong, someone please correct me ;-)

  3. You are absolutely correct - Duncan will turn 18 in July and is planning on Pre-med - at least for the moment. Don’t know how much importance the war in Iraq has on that decision! I thin originally he was planning on teaching. I’d like to see him do more acting, he’s a natural ham on stage.
