Direct Image upload

Finally made it work with some help of a kind person on the WordPress forum. I knew that something must be wrong with the “realpath” I used, but trying all variations, logic or not, it still didn’t work. When I saw the suggestions of that person on the forum, I realized that I just must be in a ‘non-common’ server setup and thus my ‘normal’ approaches just didn’t pan out. So I logged into the server via SSH and located an already existing image file to get the full path to it and then it finally dawned on me – yes, the normal ‘home’ directory was called differently! After adjusting this data, all went well, and one now can upload via the upload button when creating a message.

So far I have not put any other restriction than file size into place, but I would like uploads not to exceed dimension = 480 x 360 pixel due to people with small monitors and/or slow internet connection (and also for site aesthetic reasons).

As an example how large such an image will be, here a picture of one of our two cats, Xena, the Warrior Princess:
