Color woes

10:30:00 - The day started off with a migraine building, which is not a good sign. Oh well. Furthermore, the color just doesn’t work in our kitchen, it looks like a bright mint.

Which means I will need to repaint. Fun, fun. But as I will live in this kitchen for several years, I rather do that. So now we decided on Tate Olive.

I had never thought of doing my kitchen in a dark color and this one definitely is dark - but as our kitchen gets quite a bit of light, it might be just fine. The guys think I do not need to redo the ceiling, as it’s such a light green it almost appears to be white. I happily concur, not needing to repaint the kitchen sounds great to me.

17:00:00 - The first pass of the new color on the walls is on. It’s a great color but an icky paint to paint as it’s very streaky. But I knew this will need a second coat, just hoping that the second coat then will be enough. This kitchen is horrible to paint, so many nicks and tight spots.

But unfortunately it became obvious that the ceiling color does not work out. It’s like a white mint next to olive next to brown next to cream next to mauve. Just too many colors and no harmony in the whole kitchen. So I will have to bite into the sour apple and redo the ceiling too. Finding the right color though is tough. So tired of looking at colors and trying to figure out the right thing. This is an odd thing to happen to me, I usually am very decided and know which colors to use etc. and I am tearing on Bear’s nerves with asking all the time his opinion (I just want that he likes it too). We finally decided on Quiet Veranda for the ceiling.

My migraine has unfortunately hit home and I am not able to do anything worthwhile for the rest of the evening and so we are heading early to bed.
