Amazon taking over

This is a rant and a rave at the same time. I don’t like moghul’s, and I definitely consider Amazon to belong into that category – but all the same, that is the place I usually find what I need for an adequate good price and mostly fast enough shipping, even when selecting the free shipping option.

PHP/MySQL Programming for the Absolute Beginner

At this point, Amazon has been incorporated 2-fold into this site: a) my own wishlist in the sidebar (who know’s, maybe people would like to bathe me in gifts and just didn’t know in which (hahaha) and then b) for people who write and need a quick link to something, a book or DVD they are talking about, these people will see the insert from amazon.com link within the edit window when they create a new post.

It could be used for example like this: I want to talk about a book I am working on right now – I click onto that link – enter the search term into the dialog window that showed up – search – select the item from the found itemes – select how I want the product included, with a medium large image – or a small image – or as text only: PHP/MySQL Programming for the Absolute Beginner – and that is it. Kind of nifty.

Oh, Amazon wishlist in the sidebar with changing image got quickly too obnoxious – also not sure how much it slowed down process time but it seemed definitely to slow down. And as it’s mainly me and myself seeing this site, I threw it out and just included a direct link to my Amazon Wishlist via a meta thumbnail (also in sidebar).
