Cayleigh’s Birthday

Cayleigh

Busy times. Yesterday we drove back from Trinidad. I’ve definitely learned a lot and feel much more relaxed in regards to driving a car with a manual transition, driving 620 miles myself definitely helped. Then, instead of relaxing this morning, I went to the Kansas Org of SCN and for 4 hours did some folder work for Elizabeth (our current house guest). Right after coming home from that, we had to leave to go to the birthday party of Cayleigh.

Geez, when I came to the US and met Caleigh for the first time, she was barely able to walk and I remember her so well, playing at the farm under the kitchen table with Lucy, the gray cat. I had been so astonished, how this cat allowed her to pull and tug on her as she did without hissing nor ripping out her eyes (Lucy was a farm cat, so she never got de-clawed).

And now she is this pretty, 8-year old girl. We had a lot of fun. Grilling and chatting, looking at pictures and telling our moving tale. Though it was odd, Jenny and David with her kids where definitely missing from the clan. The day was great, warm but not hot. Perfect birthday day.
