This Time

Bird Water Bath in Fall.

It’s again this time of year. So much wind today, it just about emptied 2 of our oak trees in front of the house. Time to get the mulcher out, the shredded leaves are perfect for the Windwalker farm and their plants.

Joan and Jim came over for dinner after going with Megan to have her ears pierced. Dinner was very relaxed – she brought leftover roasted vegetables and fresh salad and I made the pizza dough and with a cheese combo of Fontina, Gruyere and Gorgonzola, combined with a very smooth Merlot, the dinner was yummie. After that we barely where able to eat Joan’s home made apple pie, but after an hour or so of watching Thelma & Louise we finally again had sufficient room for ice cream and pie.

I barely could believe that Joan and Bear hadn’t seen this great movie yet, and even 13 years after its release it’s still a good movie to watch, even though Brad Pitt with his shaved/naked (?) upper body looks almost child like, not that I thought like that when I saw the film for the first time, mind you, but now it strikes me quite unnatural. But then again, ever since Bear told me how many men shave their chest, I can’t get over that foolischness – though somewhat I find it only fair if men have to suffer a bit too, their (generalized) viewpoint has a lot to do with the fact that woman shave like crazy and the hairless body became so fashionable.

So this was the circle from fallen leaves to pizza to Thelma & Louise to removed body hair = association with emptiness, then fall and fallen leaves. Logic huh!?!
