Megan’s Birthday
It was a nice party – she is really becoming quite some young girl! I wonder how much Shelby and Megan miss her cousins, which where also their best friends. They had some friends over, so that must help, but I remember well that lost friends at that age can be quite hard to deal with. But overall they both didn’t seem too much at a loss :).
I made some Cherry Tomato Polenta Tartlets with Basil Mayonaise which turned out… interesting. Very strong on garlic taste. Everyone said how great they looked and tasted, but barely anyone took a second tartlet, I assume it was too much garlic. But I think I could do them again, more basil in the mayo and definitely less anti-vampire enhancements.
Everybody was hanging around, Joan & Jim where playing with their new camera – as was I – and after pasta and cake most of the people watched (again) Fahrenheit 9/11 – which reminds me, did YOU vote? Yes, we did, yesterday, which included a 1 hour wait. My first vote as an American.
