Oops
Last night - I might add LATE last night - I logged into our (well, Bear’s) server via Timbuktu to create a temporary account for somebody. I went via the Apple Menu and intended to select the System Preferences… line but somehow slipped with my mouse and whoever has worked with an application that takes over another computer and screen knows about these sometimes odd delays, but here I definitely slipped with my mouse and off the mouse and let loose on Sleep. OOPS.
In less than an instant I put about 50 websites out of business. And about 200 email accounts. And it’s not just a small server down in our basement, no no. It’s far away in Dallas and did I tell you already, it was LATE.
Trouble ticket instantly send but this morning - 9 hours later - it was still down. The guys said they restarted instantly. OBVIOUSLY they restarted the OTHER server of ours, which never had gone to sleep.
As Bear put it midly, “this was a BIG slip”.
Now everything is finally again up and running. All websites and email and all. Truly sorry about that. For the rest of the day I shouldn’t be causing any further server problems, we are moving Trey and his family into their new house - it’s 45º outside and wet and drizzly. REALLY looking forwards to that.
