This was the 3rd time in less than 2 years that we moved Trey’s family. That is a FULLY fledged family of 4 – and all being rat-packs. It’s really odd to move the same stuff again and again. Moving is already a pain if you have to do it with your own stuff, but moving others is just way worse – you always seem to see so much stuff you think for whatever reason possible could they hang on to this, but it’s just because the body is lazy and/or achy and you really don’t want to lift another box after having lifted already countless before.
And it was cold and for half of the time it either rained or was drizzly. And it was COLD. Where did the 74º go we had recently for several weeks? About 2/3 in I felt like a zombie, feet, back, knee, shoulders, butt! – all was throbbing in ache and dull pain.
But it’s funny how quickly the body falls back into comfort – 5 minutes in the chair and some warmth and all the aches are fading. Plus a hot shower and I’m almost back in heaven.
The best thing about it all is that Trey and family now live in their first OWN house. When Bear and I got our first house, it took me about a month until it truly sunk in, but boy was that a good feeling. Trey on the other hand has worked the past few weeks most of his time in the house to make it ready for the big move, so he has had already more time to suck in quite a bit of the MY HOUSE home owner’s proudness, and it showed. He gleamed like a May bug when I mentioned it.
But now I need to excuse myself – my bones are screaming for a hot shower.
