Tracy’s Birthday
Even though a week late, we celebrated all the same. This time everybody came over to our house. Though when I say everybody, the 4 Miller’s are dearly missing, especially having 2 kids less makes it all suddenly so… so… human.
I had the idea of making a dinner of Tapas next to Audrey’s Potato Salad. It became a bit more involved than expected - happens to me every time - but good it was nonetheless. To go with the potato salad I made some fresh Swiss Farmer’s Bread. The Tapas consisted of freshly Roasted Almonds (Bear helped getting the skins off of 3 cups of them after I blanched them with boiling water); Red Roasted Peppers stuffed with Herbed Curd Cheese; Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes (where I had to alter the recipe by mixing it with a lot of mayonaise as the Aioli and Black Olive filling was way too strong) and Cheese and Olive Puff Pastry (with a hint of sundried tomatoes and anchovies) which were yummie. Joan made Squash and Aspargus Pizzas with a Creamed Feta and Blue Cheese Sauce and Kristy took care of the dessert, Scone’d Shortcake with fresh Strawberries and whipped Cream.
In case you had not noticed before, we like to cook and we DO like to eat well :-) and we surely did eat A LOT.
