How to Annoy me as a Driver
Talk on a cell phone while driving - only YOU think, you can drive and talk but you can’t. Period. But instead you endanger me and everyone around you as your attention is NOT with me and the traffic, you drive too slow, you swirl left and right and do the most unexpected moves - and I have to take your distraction into account and accommodate YOU just so that I can survive.
Don’t signal - do you REALLY think that I am paranormal and can read your mind? Neither do I see the slightest reason why I should be nice to you in a yield when you don’t signal.
Turn into my lane - that’s what they hammered in the driving test, so I know for a FACT that you should TURN INTO YOUR OWN LANE! Especially annoying when you turn right on a red light into MY lane which is a green turn lane to the left. Get OVER!
Don’t yield correctly - please, define the word yield for yourself and then YIELD - because this means I and not you, have the RIGHT OF WAY and that you should SIGNAL your wish to yield into MY lane.
Sit on a 4-way stop and DON’T use the right of way - this makes everyone not know who will be going next and brings everything to a staggering halt. USE your right and GO when it’s your turn.
Don’t move to the right lane when you’re driving slowly and make sure that nobody can pass you. - I don’t even care if you’re driving at the upper speed limit. Maybe I want to break the rules and drive 10 or 15 miles faster, so get out of my way! Especially painful if you’re driving at the same speed as the driver next to you so nobody has a chance of getting past you.
During rush hour leave at least 4 or 5 car lengths between you and the car in front of you, especially when going through a short green light - imagine that, if everyone would catch up, the line would be way less long, and yes, this includes going through a green light, the driver behind you would like to make it also, so WAKE UP and move.
Don’t get up to speed after a stop - it does NOT take over a half of a block to get from zero to 45 - USE the thing that’s called a GAS PEDAL and get up to speed. Not only during rush hour but especially then you’d notice a considerable difference if everyone would adhere to this single point - of course, this would require that you don’t talk on a cell phone while driving and which would allow you to pay attention to the world around you.
Don’t park straight nor in the middle of a parking space but at an angle and over the yellow line. Best, take up 2 full parking spots and make me walk. YES, there are also other people in the world, not only you.
Did I mention? Talk on a cell phone while driving.
