Day Five : Mile 1,405 : Brooklyn

Turnpike

Morning and early after noon was spent with Jennifer and Mia, chatting and at the petting zoo. Then the drive to New York : 40 miles took us almost 3 hours. We were doing just fine until we hit the turnpike of the Lincoln tunnel. Standing in line with all the other cars - of course during rush hour - doing the last 270 degree turn from the bridge down to the pay booth took us almost a full hour. And after that Bear missed to turn right right after the tunnel and as revenge for that, my GPS sent him straight through New York, down all the busy avenues and Broadway until we hit another busy tunnel and finally made it down to Brooklyn where Jeff and Claire (including their 5 year old daughter Grace) took us in for the next couple of days.
