Open up
YES - the future has begun : we opened up our attic. Don’t know how many years it will take to finish, but once done it will be extraordinary.
Nope, no kidding. It will have it all : a room to withdraw to for reading, contemplating and resting (possibly even our future guest room?) - tons, and I mean TONS of open shelving for books and even more cubicles on wheels for storage - a sitting area to read, looking down into the opened up TV room - a full bathroom - and, yes a BIG ART STUDIO for Bear and me. And a loft pathway across the TV room side and open stairs, upstairs and down stairs to the basement.
The ONLY thing scaring me are the dormers. Not even breaking open the ceiling from down stairs impresses me - and then we will be rid of ALL popcorn ceilings in this house!
Sometimes I wish that tomorrow would already be today, it will be fantastic. As my dad pointed out, once we are done, this house will only have about 1/3 of it’s original state and all else is going to be remodeled, added and modified to suit us and our life. I love this challenge.
