It’s all about labels and tagging these days and then webbing away.

Over the past year I’ve well noticed the increasing frenzy in regards to tagging but I had not realized until today of how big of a network this has become. StumbleUpon, Technorati, TagWorld, mySpace etc. etc. etc. – all about tagging and search engines matching up the right tags with each other and thus creating this huge web of interest and interaction.

It’s ADDICTIVE.

I feel like back in the first days of surfing, when each new web site was one big ahhhh… of delight, especially when finding something that matched my own interest.

It’s FAST.

Instead of a hit and miss of the past, you build-up a network of correlations which instantly increases your chances of hitting a great page manifold. And it’s truly becoming a web of webs as it’s learning by assimilating all the keywords and ordering them back to you.

It’s TIME CONSUMING.

It’s getting faster and faster, but you’re sweeping through more and more input, David Bowie and his 16 TV’s. But you also exchange ideas and thoughts, little blurbs here and there. And then you want to see if you received a review or a message… it’s addictive and that is what makes it time consuming.

It’s FUN.

You can be as selective as you want to be. You can waste as much time as you want to, it doesn’t end if you need entertainment or input or distraction or interaction.

It’s ENDLESS.

And what do we do with all the data we gather and sort and write about and think about and connect with others so they also might see and ponder and look and gather.

It’s OPEN TO YOU.

I’ll try and restrict myself to only an hour a day… .
