I’m totally drowning in paper work. Can barely admit it, but finally doing my taxes. A misunderstanding had led to missing this years tax day and then the extension filing. And after that suddenly so much other stuff was going on that this got pushed aside – being late on my taxes is something I personally, just by-the-way, utterly hate – and it became harder and harder to sit down and go through the stuff.
Finally I am.
And I am drowning.
So many accounts and stuff. This is one of the draw backs with being self-employed and doing business on my own. Every year it’s a hassle, even though most accounts now go via online banking which makes it all much less painful. But last year, one of my American Express accounts got somehow a hiccup and I ended up with TONS of double entries to weed out plus my European settings in Quicken – day, month, year – got suddenly “not realized” and so AmEx gave me a whole bunch of swapped entries with American date standard – month, day, year – and next to being double entries these are painful to detect and trace which ones are the correct ones. With other words: a mess.
Next to that I have some accounts which relate to our house mixed up with mortgage and other finances – yak, that’s the other account I am dreading to sort out.
But I am coming slowly to the surface.
And once again did I swear to myself that next year it will be all different.
