Guards can be a good thing.

DENTAL guards, that is :-)

One interesting thing is that since I have my new dental “appliance” (they really call it like that, even though it’s pretty much just a lower teeth removable retainer… kind of), the lower back and pelvic pains have completely stopped.

It is amazing how the muscles of the jaw have a direct link to “down there”. What this mouth guard does is it pulls the lower jaw lightly to the front, to the correct and original position. With other words, over the past 6 years or so my lower jaw dropped and slid backwards and thus being misaligned and out of angle and constantly giving pressures with the muscles around the ears and my muscles there have become completely cramped and all. This retainer basically retrains my muscles into their original relaxed and correct position. And it instantly, completely relaxed muscle tension in the lower back etc.

Right now I am even hopeful that it will have a positive long term effect on my recurring migraines, because the dentist mentioned the other day so by-the-by that the muscles which had been so tense with me, that the nerves go through the neck etc. down the spine etc. and she pointed to the exact muscle which gets totally cramped and then I get my migraines. So yes, very hopeful on this. Any improvement is a good improvement!

I’ll be using these guards for about 2 months. Maybe less, depending how fast my muscles will retrain. She is an amazing dentist who I have. AND, she has good nerves, you have to, with me as a customer on something important like my teeth!
