For the past few hours I played with iLife ’08 and iWork ’08 and am impressed how each and every year Apple manages to add little tidbits which makes it an absolute aesthetic pleasure to do stuff with it.
Most of it is not meant to be used by professionals but it is fabulous for consumers (I am referring here e.g. to iMovie which never had been fun using if your project is large and more demanding than drag & drop and whereas Final Cut is then the software to go with).
If I would not use WordPress since years and I would be newer to computers, this is the software I would use to create my own, stylish blog on dot-mac. Everything hooks easily together, even from Numbers (Excel equivalent… and actually better than in many aspects) you can publish with a single menu selection to your blog!
Of course I love the feature that I can post with a single click from my iPhone to my own web gallery – not that I really NEED it, as I have already a photo-blog and a photo-gallery and next to that I can already send from my phone to this blog via a plugin and an online trigger which checks every hour if I’ve sent something new and then automatically posts it. But it’s the beauty with the new web gallery which is so intriguing!
Style – Apple absolutely excels at it, down to the packaged goods.
