DNSChanger Trojan Horse Removal

Keeping this link not so much for it’s current offering, but knowing that with the increased usage of Mac’s more hackers will find joy in terrorizing users - usually nothing of concern for me, next to being on a Mac I am also protected behind a firewall and router - it’s like many of the insurances, sometimes it is more about peace of mind than really needing it, and I could see this time coming at some point in the future that I want to just ensure all is safe on my machine.

The DNSChanger Trojan Horse, also known as OSX.RSPlug.A and OSX/Puper, has been found on numerous pornographic websites disguising itself as a video codec. Once downloaded and installed, DNSChanger changes the DNS settings on the computer, redirecting websites entered by the user to malicious sites. If personal information is entered on these malicious websites, it can lead to identity theft.
