Conclusion

After spending a half-a-day with downloading and checking out a variety of templates for the myView photoblog part of my site and adjusting an existing one to serve my main needs, I realize that I might as well create again a new theme from scratch – my original one feels outdated to me and the comment section would need debugging – and then have exactly what I want without having to credit somebody but myself and at the same create something new and modern.
