Perfectly okay UNTIL the vet put his hands onto her. Boy, were they happy to be again home.

They had done a poor job on YUKI, so her incision infected. And she has such a tiny body, this is really not what she needs. I knew it didn’t look right and so I took her in to the vet earlier than required. The suture was sticking out and the wound could not heal. It had a large, red and swollen hard area. Good news was that when I got her to the vet, the pus had drained. He cleaned the wound and cut the suture back so now it should be able to heal shut. But it looks horrible. I am still not sure it is now good and will watch closely. But she did not have a fever and is eating and playing well. The boy, Sky, is doing really well. Coming to think of it, I will give her some assists, that should help with her healing.
The cats still have not “met”, though the small ones where out and about exploring while Xena was downstairs locked in the office and then they where in their carrier in the painting room while Xena was exploring their sanctuary (the yellow room). So far so good. Xena is impressing me, she is at the door but never cries or scratches when I am in with them. Usually she’d never allow a closed door between her and me. She also has no longer a problem with their smell it seems.
Today I’m taking Xena to the vet to get her shot – she hasn’t had one in many years and she’s not been exposed to other cats. But then later this evening we want to tackle the next step, having the kitties in the carrier while Xena can freely roam around and come to the carrier to smell them. Lets see how much hissing and spitting that will induce :-)
