Today I’ve consiously decided to NOT complete this time the SketchBookPROJECT. It’s a really cool project, but rather than doing a half-good job, rushing through to meet the submission date and then be unhappy because I know the result is not what it could and should be, I decided to stop here and to submit next year again (with some better planing I hope!).

Next to this decision I’ve made some good progress this week on several projects of mine. Of course never as much as I would like it to be, but good enough to feel it moving. A good feeling.

One of those larger projects was to transfer my PhotoBlog from Pixelpost to Wordpress, from a sub-directory to a sub-domain. Over the course of 7 years a lot of photos have accumulated and getting all over and not losing dates, comments and the lot plus to transfer the monthly grid – a biggie for me – I dreaded it for a long time. But the past year almost made the site fall into absolute non-existence just because I no longer was able to send photos easily via the iPhone to the site. It just HAD TO be done.

And here it is in it’s new glory: myVIEW – life through the viewfinder.

Tomorrow will be another big step – I’ll be back in the painting room. No words to describe that feeling.

I began scanning some of my older drawings. I mean, WAY older drawings, down to my childhood ones which my mom has held onto for so many years and then brought to me past September when she came to visit.

Many drawings I remember well making, but there are definitely a few that make me scratch my head and some I only belief I made them because I see my (then) tiny signature at the back of them.

Sleeping in late – 9:30 – is the first step to a perfect day. That Bear had to leave to go out of town isn’t usually on the menu card, but I’ve got so much planned that it’s not freaking me out too much.

Fixing some more in regards to the new server – now all links on marlyse.com should work again correctly and the missing images will be filled in once we have our old server back – felt good.

Other reasons for it been a good Sunday? The biggest part today I spent painting while outside the weather turned even colder and somber with more ice rain and iced snow, around 3 PM it had turned already so dark that lights needed to be turned on. After it was a fun CD (LRH) lecture before getting a cozy fire going and finish baking a fresh bread. Watched a cute (kids-) movie, Nanny McPhee , even played TheSims for an hour next to writing several emails before soaking in one of these fabulous foamy bubble baths. Thanks to online chat I could even talk a little with Bear, and now it’s definitely time to disappear in the pre-heated sheets of our bed, accompanied by Tricky and Xena (they never know where to sleep when Bear isn’t here), the two souls who help me not to cave in now just because my sweetie is out of town.

Too many cages closed, too many tears. Too much loneliness. Too much nothingness. Too little echo, too little cause.

Nothing worse than being between two countries, between two beliefs, between two styles of life, between two goals, between it all and all alone with the recognition that one belongs neither here nor there, that one belongs nowhere even though not deliberately chosen to be so, the heart here, the yearning there, failed power here, doubts there. A light alone into the night of nowhere and a dream and an echo of beauty and peace.

The lighthouse and the seashell.

Now isn’t that nice, I don’t have to explain a thing, take it or leave it.

When you get your copy of Tiger, launch Dashboard (pressing F12 will do it) and locate the Weather widget. Press Command and Option and click anywhere in the widget. The location will change to Nowhere and display one of the weather graphics. While holding down Command and Option continue clicking on the widget to view all the weather graphics included with the widget. Hiding and revealing Dashboard will retun the Weather widget to its previously configured location.”
