Progesterone… an interesting hormone.
This is a very well written article. And even though it does not explicitly talk about potential miscarriage early on in the pregnancy due to too little of this hormone, it’s kinda implied.
When estrogen levels are high in relation to our progesterone we experience many severe symptoms, among them anxiety, breast tenderness, cyclical headaches or migraines, depression, digestive issues, fuzzy thinking, palpitations, food cravings, irregular bleeding, water retention, weight gain and more.
(Note that a number of these symptoms are also indicative of the exact opposite condition — a deficiency of estrogen — another example of why the concept of estrogen dominance is too simplistic.)
If estrogen levels stay unopposed, women may develop infertility, endometriosis, amenorrhea (skipped periods), hypermenorrhea (heavy bleeding), fibroids, uterine cancer, stroke, and decreased cognitive ability, among other conditions.
Understand estrogen levels and estrogen dominance related to menopause

Another interesting article can be found here - but this one is for German speaking people only.
Reason for me being interested in this right now is after my talk with Jenny (sister-in-law and a nurse) yesterday during our unconventional Thanksgiving late lunch - not dinner - preparation.

I feel like…
Screaming. No, actually not. But like rolling up into a ball and taking a vacation of life - at least for a month. I’m at the end of ideas how to recover the lost 140 GB (yes, GB, not MB) of data - about 4 years worth of design, code, lists and accumulated life - gone. I’ve gone through each and every recovery option I’ve found. The only application that so far sees the file dies at the 2 GB limitation and thus only produces a non-usable file. The other files recovered are all not usable. It’s though so far the only application that doesn’t trash file structure and file names. Others they just rename the recovered stuff and glance over the .dmg - actually ’sparseimage’ file. Just like that, 140 GB of life gone. Next to a 6 week pregnancy. Gone too. Next to a job I actually had fun with, gone too. Yes, I am ready to roll into a ball and take a long nap and then I’ll face the world again and might even make it a bit more fun. Don’t know what I did, one second I was rolling right along and the next I’m down in one of the really deep pit holes. Just like that. Didn’t even kill somebody to get there. Just don’t know what happend, but it surely happened all at the same time. That’s the reason that people like to die - they can forget the current life where they didn’t win their game of choice and now want to try again fresh in a new game : the next life.
Well, all I get for now is a night or two of sleep, but this must serve me just as well to catch my breath and mood and to get back onto my feet and to get back into the game - did you ever read the book The Bachman Books : Four Early Novels (Rage / The Long Walk / Roadwork / The Running Man) ? It’s Stephen King under his pseudonym and The Long Walk he wrote in college. Just keep on walking, even if you die walking, because if you stop, you will definitely die.
