TiVo and American Idol
As if it could not have been planned any better: tonight was the showdown and reveal of who wins this years title of American Idol and it was down to the two David’s (Archuleta, 17 and Cook, 25) and while stars and advertisers fought for minutes and seconds of the publics attention, the timer on our TiVo recording inched closer and closer to it’s green end and at one point even had Bear remark jokingly that it will cut off the results… guess what, the result came precisely at 10 PM and host Ryan Seacrest was finally announcing the winner and it went like this:
“And the winner is… David ….” - “Do you want to keep or delete this recording?”
Gladly, the web is so fast that we could trace down the results instantly and it was also on our local news (yeah, I’m in Kansas). It was actually almost canning how fast the internet is, as the Wiki.org site was already updated and talked about Donna’s Summer appearance on tonight’s show in the past tense!

Good-by “Knights of Tranquility”
It’s a World of Warcraft thing. So if you haven’t a clue what I am writing about, don’t worry, just skip to the next posting
He went first :
Farewell, but not Goodbye
The recent upheaval in the guild has left me split on what I’ve wanted to do, where I feel I should be; I have many friends in KoT, and I feel like this is a very nice home for me. But at the same time, there are real life family members of mine now elsewhere, and it has left me sitting on the fence, thinking about my options.
It is sad for me, but I feel like it is time to move on. This is not a reflection on any fellow Knights, nor on the leadership of the guild - I have the utmost respect for Keim, Diely, and Arien, and I only have fond memories and experiences with them. I believe that the guild is in a great position to build up with the current crop of core players, and be stronger for it. This is simply a personal thing for myself, a matter of timing.
I say it’s not a goodbye because I will still be in game, on the same server, and I am always willing to help out a fellow Knight, even if my name no longer says “Knights of Tranquility” - you are still family, just without my input and attempts at humor in /guild or on the forum. I am always willing to help out with any crafting needs - Grathor’s jewelcrafting, Eserinae’s tailoring or enchanting, Tyrasha’s cooking - and I would never expect any attempts at paying for this; we’re family, and I’m here to help. Likewise with grouping/questing/instances - if you need my help, please don’t hessitate to ask and see if I’m able to do so. Eserinae is always happy to take on a tanking or DPS role, and Tyrasha greatly enjoys killing stuff.
There are several personal thanks I’d like to offer, but beyond what I’ve said privately to Keim, I’ll just say thanks to Arien, Anaa, and other rogues who helped Tyrasha become a much better rogue during our Molten Core days, and fellow healers who helped Eserinae become a better healer (when she did that sort of thing). It’s just one small part of what made (and continues to make) KoT a great guild.
I’m sure Miela / Leeloo / Byork / Xed (1 person, my friend) and Alynnah / Rheelah / Marah (my wife) will be leaving as well with probably less noise made about it.
Your friend-
–Tyrasha/Eserinae/Grathor/Anamyr/etc.
Tyrasha: 70 NE Rogue • Eserinae: 70 NE Feral Druid • Grathor: 64 Dwarf Hunter • Anamyr: 62 NE Warrior
Mercurio’s (Guild leader of Knights of Tranquility) Answer :
Hi Tyrasha,
I am deeply saddened to hear that you are leaving. On the other hand, I understand that you need to follow your family, and I wish the best for you.
As I said when we spoke on the forums on Friday, I am truly grateful for you beiing of our guild, and I have always considered you one of our most valuable members. You’ve always been generous with your time and resources, plus knowledgable about the game and hardworking in terms of trying to improve yourself and help others improve themselves as well. You are talented, energetic, and focused in groups. You are a “go-to” player, someone who knows the ins and outs of their class and the game in general, someone that can be counted on to remain calm under stress, someone who can be counted on to do the right thing, and someone to rise to the challenge when faced with adversity. You understand and promote the social goals of the guild, and you’re always boosting people’s morale and encouraging them to look at the bright side of things, even when the odds are looking grim. You are fair, reasonable, and objective in your decisions, and you genuinely care about other people’s needs, always being the first person to jump at opportunities to help others out.
I hope that others in the guild will strive to emulate your example. You will be truly be missed, and I hope that you will stay in touch. If you ever need anything please don’t hesitate to ask.
Best wishes,
M.
And I came after :
This is the saddst posting for me of all my postings - not just here but in general.
Yes, me and my siblings (alts) will be leaving too and I am going to miss a lot as I have only good memories and it was the first time that I enjoyed being a member of a larger group. Everyone here has always been outstandingly nice, generous and helpful to me. There are so many of you, you know who you are : THANK YOU (hug) !
Same as Anamyr/Tyrasha/Eserinae/Grathor has said : if I am around and you need help, just message me, if I can, I will help. And I will always feel part of KoT even though I am no longer wearing the title. I do hope we still find reasons to team up. Until we meet again, I bid you all a farewell… may Elune watch your path.
—Rheelah, Alynnah, Marah and her other siblings.

A good thing to support.
As you know, I think the ONE Campaign, it’s website and it’s purpose a good thing. So do others. Just received an email worth posting :
On Wednesday night, April 25, Bono will appear on the most watched TV show in America, “American Idol,” to talk about the ONE Campaign and the fight against extreme poverty.
Breaking News: Bono to appear on American Idol on Wednesday
His appearance is part of a two-night special called “Idol Gives Back” which will focus on extreme poverty in Africa. On both nights, the 24th and the 25th, Idol with air a 30 second TV spot about the ONE Campaign.
The Wednesday night show will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and include appearances by Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Earth, Wind & Fire, Il Divo, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant, Josh Groban with the African Children’s Choir, Jack Black, Helen Mirren, Rascal Flatts, Quincy Jones, Carrie Underwood and Annie Lennox
If you can watch the show, watch it. If you can not but have a TiVo or similar, record it and watch it. Awareness of the campaign will help driving it. So, spread the word and have others watch too :-)

Stumbleupon for Video has Launched
This is great, especially if you are tired having all the additional stuff in your face when you want to watch a video. If you have a Stumble account, it will even save your video viewed history for you:
“Stumbleupon for Video has Launched the interface is really awesome with lots of Ajax goodness”.
