Watching Alien vs Predator 2 (Requiem) and dang, this is a horribly bad movie. Nothing really building up. Characters weak. Acting weak. As they wanted many aliens, these small bests they manage to multiply faster than rats. Overall, the movie is boring and badly acted… REALLY badly acted. Not a lot of good special effects either. Did I mention bad acting? No good story line. Maybe I should not ask how bad a movie can get but how much cheese can be stuffed into 90 minutes? Even though I did not pay for this Blue Ray DVD, the money spent on THIS one gives me a feeling of remorse.

Really frustrating to be limited. Much better than a week ago, but no way close to be back to normal. It is getting old to work out of bed - no pun intended - but I am glad that at least I can catch up with some of the work which is stacked. The 3 other blogs are still keeping me busy and are another source of frustration, right now I am in the mood of dropping them all. Of course I am only in this mood because I had definite purpose with them and with all the work I put into them over the past 6 and more weeks zero progress. This threw me into one of these all-round doubts, topped off by sudden problems I was having putting a really simple site into HTML - Internet Explorer 6 was the last one to check (as I am not at work I did not have easy access to it) and I have to go back this weekend and fix it and I am dreading it. Oh, plus on my second day on my monthly migraine.

This back incident really was a kick onto my shin - before I was on such a good roll: downstairs remodeling the basement, work going well and steady, creative ideas left and right and overall stable and progressing and then this. All came to a stand still. Ugh, I hate it when I get into this position and I have to kick and struggle and wiggle like a worm to get again going.

My phone didn’t like the upgrade at all. To clarify, my phone is not one of the hacked ones. But not only did I loose 60 photos (which I had assumed to be backed up automatically as I sync every night, but duh!), my phone completely reset and since the upgrade crashed already at least 5 times with no apparent reason… like in the middle of listening music. The volume boost is the most horrible thing that could happen because now ALL sound hurts worse than any canned music, and either the sound is overblown or one can not hear it at all, trying to counter balance the pain by turning the sound lower. The new icon for the Calculator is uglier and I’m not intending to use the iTunes Store too often, especially not with this horrible sound coming now out of this scrambled iPod and thus could have passed just fine on this added icon, all lonely in that lowest row.

Now I am on the lookout if I can down grade the phone without hurting it more - not that this will bring the photos back.

The thinner side panel for our new stove is NATION WIDE on backorder.

Order cancelled at Best Buy and re-ordered from Sears - they SUPPOSEDLY have it still in stock and it will be here in 2-days (extra charge of course).

Time Warner tells us that they do NOT support the TiVo and will not put a card into it - but across the nation on forums, several people have reported no problems with Time Warner installing the needed card. With other words, a new fight (this one is Bear’s game).

We got a new cable (from the cable company) laying openly across our yard and it, “could take a couple of weeks” until people come to burry it. SUPPOSEDLY this should handle the bad picture quality we are experiencing over the past 6 months.

We are behind on our tight schedule : the new TV stand still needs to be sanded, stained and clear coated - same goes for the Kitchen stand. Both items should have been completed by no later than Sunday to stay on schedule.

Yes, I’m on my periods and my span of patience is a tad short (I’m actually NOT in a bad mood). These ‘female days’ are always a nuisance at the least, the cramping yesterday was the other end of the scale - very painful. Sometimes I feel it’s plain annoying to walk around with a female body; not only do we get all the pain during labor when giving birth, but it is us who has to deal for 30 or more years with all the blood and mess. What do men get? They usually already whimper when they only SEE a tweezer, but we are supposed to be hairless. Yeah, some of our human games are really plain weird!

One of the most amazing things occurred on our Odyssey to get the new stove installed.

On the found installation manual it states clearly to “call the Service Center to get the thinner side panels if you have a 29″ rough opening”

This statement can be found on the specific model we bought but also on about 30 other Frigidaire models (our Kenmore model was made by Frigidaire/Electrolux).

Bear and I spent about 7 hours or even more (combined) trying to get these side panels. From Pontius to Pilatus and back again. There was no part number available, parts said they can’t do anything without parts numbers (this was the response at both companies), the service center insisted that the only thing they do is fix appliances and they have to come out to our place to see what is wrong and then fix it (was she deaf? I SAID that nothing is broken). I could read the statement to whomever I wanted, nobody had a clue and nothing could be tracked down.

The cumulation of the various phone calls is so frustrating that I don’t even want to talk any further about it. While Bear was ready to rig something, I was ready to sue Sears AND Frigidaire for false advertisement.

But one more time Bear (without hope actually) called Sears to get the phone number for the installation department (it was a shot into the wide open, but if nobody else new, maybe them?!). There was another sales guy there than over the past few days and I don’t know what they talked, but only a few minutes later we had the exact part number and name for what we had been going through torture without result.

When Bear asked him where he pulled the data from the guys said, “from my sales handbook”.

WOW.

Not SERVICE CENTER - but the SALES PERSON’s HANDBOOK.

It is ordered now.

And I am one step closer to be being able to bake some Madeleines in my spanking new and shining specialty pans and oven.
